Human Services

The City of Des Moines is a member of the Human Services Funding Collaborative. This online alliance coordinates human services funds between North, East, and South King County municipalities. The participating cities include Auburn, Bellevue, Bothell, Burien, Covington, Des Moines, Federal Way, Issaquah, Kenmore, Kent, Kirkland, Redmond, Renton, Sammamish, SeaTac, Shoreline, and Tukwila.

Through its Human Services Program, the City supports local nonprofit agencies that provide essential services to members of our community. This program partners with organizations addressing critical needs such as food security, housing stability, senior and youth services, behavioral health support, and other programs that strengthen the well-being of our residents. Funding is awarded through a competitive application process to ensure resources are invested where they can make the greatest impact.

The 2027–2028 funding cycle and invite eligible agencies to review the guidelines and apply. Applications are due no later than April 6, 2026 at 4:00 PM. All applications must be submitted through the Share1App portal.
