Request an Inspection
To request an inspection use the MyPermits online portal or call our automated inspection Line at (206) 870-6531. You will need the following information:
- Permit number
- Job site address
- Contact name with phone number
- Type of inspection requested
Scheduling
The cut off time for calling in or scheduling an inspection online is 2:00 pm. Any requests left after that time may not be checked until 2:00 pm on the following day. No same day inspections will be scheduled.
To schedule all Fire Inspections you MUST call South King Fire at (253) 946-7318.
Plans
All permits and approved plans are required to be on site or in the general contractor's site offices at the time of the inspection. The general contractor or permit holder is responsible for insuring that all areas are inspected prior to concealment. View the list of guidelines the inspector will follow.
Areas of inspections need to be ready when the inspection is requested. The general contractor needs to keep the building official aware of the construction schedule and the projected completion date.
PRESIDENT’S DAY CLOSURE:
City offices are closed Monday, February 16 for the Presidents Day holiday. Inspections are not available that day. Inspections requested by 2:00 pm Friday, February 13, will be scheduled Tuesday, February 17. If you request an inspection after the 2:00 pm deadline on Friday, or over the holiday weekend, it will be scheduled Wednesday, February 18.
